Little Constructions Pty Ltd - Geelong
Mark Little began his apprenticeship in December 1994 at age 17, and completed it in early October 1998 having just turned 21. In the final year of his apprenticeship he won the Gordon Institute of Tafe and the MBAV Geelong Section Apprentice of the year, MBAV Geelong Section Best Overall Apprentice in Carpentry and the MBAV Victoria Florence M Taylor Medallion (for further education during his apprenticeship).
On completion of his apprenticeship Mark began his sub-contracting carpentry business. For 18 months Mark completed all facets of carpentry and a variety of jobs including decks, pergolas for some of Geelong’s best builders.
Mark then wanted to broaden his experience and began working on Melbourne high-rises for a period of 6 months. Mark received an offer in 2000 to return to work in Geelong, working with a rapidly growing builder doing architectural renovations and new homes. For a period of 12 months he worked as a leading hand, and then promoted to Site Supervisor for 2 years, on projects ranging from $500k-$800k. In early 2004 after registering for this DBU licence Mark started up Little Constructions P/L.
Since the beginning of 2006 Little Constructions has steadily built its profile in the Geelong region. “In the last 18 months we have changed our structure to concentrate on all facets of home building with a wide range of projects” Mark Little.
In 2010 Little Construction proudly won an award at the MBAV Regional Building Awards – South West; Best Renovation/Addition $100k-$200k for a 2nd storey extension we did in Torquay, and this year we received at the 2012 MBAV Regional Building Awards – South West; Best Renovation/Addition $300k-$500k for a large project in Point Lonsdale.
Mark currently sits as Vice-Chair of the Geelong Section MBAV and a Country Sector Representative at the MBAV head offices.
